Fast Company Motor Sports
L.L.C. along with driver and team owner
Terry Bogusz Jr. will be Ford powered for the 2009 racing season.
Bogusz and his team will be
running Ford Racing sealed crate engine
part number M-6007-D347SR. This new Ford powerplant will reside in a
Port City Racecars Super Late Model Chassis wrapped in a new Five Star,
Ford Fusion Template body. The fan familiar #71 will be retained in
competition at the Auto City Speedway in Clio Michigan.
Bogusz is the defending
champion in the Auto City Super Stock
division at the speedway and has raced in that division for the past
three racing seasons finishing 5th and 7th in season points
respectively.
The Auto City Super Stock
division bases its racing machines on the
Crate Engine/Template Body type of Super Late Model, popularized by the
ASA Late Model, USPro, and the SuperPro series.
Terry’s racing roots
go back to childhood attending races at
the Mt. Clemens Race Track to watch his father Terry Bogusz Sr. race
car number 71 in the Super Six and V-8 Sportsman division. This
experience led to Terry’s involvement in many facets of the
sport
including work at JOMAR Racing Engines in tear down and later as an
engine builder. He honed his skills in set-up and race car maintenance
as a member of the 1988 ARCA Champion and Busch Grand National Veteran
Tracy Leslie team. Bogusz later went on to race Go-Karts in the
Michigan area starting in 1996. Bogusz was able to secure a
championship at the River City Speedway before moving on to full size
race cars in 2004.
In 2003 Bogusz was an
instrumental in the formation of
Crate/Template racing as the tech director for the USPro series which
later became the ASA Late Model Series. In 2004, Terry began running
down his dream and started racing a full size crate engine car for
himself and has now been competing full time at the Auto City Speedway
since 2006.
Terry resides in Shelby
Township, Michigan with his wife and two
sons and spends his days chasing down the facts as an investigator for
the Macomb County Prosecutor’s office.
